TRIP LEADERS

Luis Aguilar is one of those consummate professionals who manage to look like they're enjoying themselves throughout the trek, regardless of weather and other difficulties. Luis was the very first guide to develop trekking programs in northwestern Argentina; his knowledge of the region and connection to the local villagers make our High Andes trip unthinkable without him.

Guido Bonvicini knows the ins and outs of Tuscany and the Dolomites, including the Italian Lake District, which he calls home, like no one else. Some have called him Italy's best ambassador to the world.

If anyone deserves the title of Mr. Patagonia, it's our own Alberto Del Castillo. As a young rock climber, he bagged many of the major peaks in Patagonia, including the very rare double, FitzRoy and Cerro Torre. His knowledge of every corner of Patagonia, and more importantly, his close connections with the locals in even the most remote corners of the region, assure out travelers to Patagonia and experience second to none.

Bill Liske is our premiere guide, leading treks for us in Nepal, Bhutan, and Patagonia. Bill has been coming to the Himalaya since 1975 and has led treks throughout the Himalaya, Andes, and Africa.

François Ribard was born in Madagascar, raised in North Africa, and settled as a young man in Die. He now leads groups all over Europe, but his greatest enthusiasm is still reserved for his dear Diois.

Dorje Tshering was hand-picked by the Bhutanese government to go to Austria for training as a mountain guide when Bhutan first opened its doors to tourism. He has built on that training with many years of experience and is now one of Bhutan's premier guides.

Wangchuck Wangdi is a walking encyclopedia of the flora, fauna, history, and culture of his beloved Bhutan. The country's original guide, he pioneered many of today's trekking routes. In managing our Bhutan programs, Wangchuck is often called upon to put his many years of experience and his extensive network of contacts to work to make sure that our groups operate smoothly.

Ang Dendi Sherpa runs our office in Kathmandu with great efficiency, taking care of the myriad details and red tape that come with the territory there. His hard work and attention to detail are a critical part of the puzzle in assureing the smooth operation of your trek.
