Everest from Gokyo

Though Everest is the tallest peak on earth, it is neither the hardest to climb nor the most beautiful to behold.  Fortunately for our trekkers, it has some neighbors that would clearly qualify as finalists in any Himalayan beauty contest, most notably Ama Dablam.  In addition to three of the world’s six tallest peaks, the Khumbu—as this region is known—is home to the some of the world’s hardiest and friendliest people, the Sherpas.  With the completion of several new hotels along the route, we’re now able to enjoy the superb mountain views with more comfort than was imaginable just a few years ago.
