Three Custom Journeys to Nepal
Art as Adventure
Nancy is a unique client and traveler. She initially reached out to us with questions about how to make connections in Nepal. She was looking to go on a journey to the Himalayas to help her spend some time volunteering with children and women, giving her a chance to share her love of art and all that it has done for her.
While this is a nontraditional type of journey for an adventure travel company to curate, Nancy's desire to get off the beaten path and make real connections with people living in small villages were things that resonated with us. We worked to create a variety of incredibly unique journeys for her - three so far and more to come!
Nancy's trips have included time spent with local NGOs, conducting workshops for groups of children from rural villages to come together and explore art - a school subject that they aren't offered traditionally. Her trips with us have taken her through a variety of urban and extremely rural areas of Nepal, exposing her to a variety of society and helping her to understand the social fabric of the country more deeply.
Here at ATC, we are incredibly grateful for the opportunities to share the destinations we offer with those in search of exploring each of them in positive, unique and mutually beneficial ways. We're always up to the challenge of finding new ways to share these amazing destinations through a lens that resonates with you.
A Note from Nancy
"As a volunteer teacher, my trips planned with ATC have been not only exciting and fun, but have led to transformative experiences and special, lasting friendships. I feel so lucky to have met and spent time with Nepali families and groups from city, country and extremely remote, culturally unique lifestyles.
With ATC's cultural knowledge, caring, personal planning and attention to detail - I've enjoyed the perfect balance of volunteering, cultural education, trekking, homestays, playing with children and time to relax, reflect and be ready for the next day of adventure.
Especially valuable has been the opportunity to meet and interact with kids, women's groups and families who are also eager to learn and grow through shared experiences. The continuing communications and friendships that were begun on my first trips with ATC have become increasingly meaningful and brought hope and wonderful new insights/changes into my life."
